Hot Lunch Program Moves From St. Paul’s in Brockton to MainSpring House

“The Table,” a hot lunch program that has served 30,000 meals a year to the hungry in Brockton, will be relocating to the MainSpring House emergency shelter, just a block away at 54 N. Main Street.

St. Paul’s Church, the former home to the much-needed program, was closed in November of 2010. Since then the Archdiocese of Boston has allowed the lunch program to continue in place at the now-shuttered church thanks to funding from Father Bills and MainSpring. By the end of May the program will operate out of the new location, with no disruption in service.

“The Table” has been run for years by St. Paul’s Community, a non-profit that will phase itself out now that the program is being transitioned to Father Bill’s and MainSpring.

Donations can continue to be made payable to “Friend of the Table,’’ at PO Box 1010, Brockton MA 02301. Donations of food items and supplies should be sent to the church at 80 Pleasant St., Brockton, until May 13. For food donation inquiries, call 508-587-0877. To volunteer, call 508-587-5441, ext 218, or e-mail:
