Bread of Life (BOL) is a faith-based organization of 37 partner churches, synagogues, high schools, business and community groups from north metropolitan Boston. BOL offers free food and help to hungry, homeless, and isolated people in the community through:

  • Free evening meals (Tuesday-Friday)
  • Food Pantries in Malden and Everett
  • Groceries delivered to seniors in public housing in Malden, Everett, Melrose, Medford and Wakefield,Food delivered to homeless families sheltered in local motels,
  • Outreach to homeless,
  • Clothing ministry
  • Groceries provided every four weeks to residents of Malden, Medford, Everett, Melrose, Saugus, Stoneham, Wakefield, Reading, North Reading and Winchester.

    Wednesdays: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
    Fridays: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • 460 Broadway in Everett (for Everett residents only)
    3rd & 4th Thursdays: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Mobile Homeless Outreach

Three outreach workers attend Bread of Life dinners to help homeless single people from Malden, Medford and Everett obtain shelter, housing, employment and medical care. Bread of Life also provides transportation for homeless individuals to pick up furniture and appliances once they find housing.

ShareWood Project

Provides free health care for dinner guests and anyone from the community every Tuesday evening at First Church Congregational in Malden.

Clothing Ministry

Provides free clothing, coats, blankets, shoes and household items at each evening meal.
