The Wachusett Food Pantry provides emergency food assistance to any resident of Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland and Sterling in a caring and confidential manner as a part of the Worcester County Hunger-Free Network.

The pantry is a free-of-charge, emergency, monthly food program offering 3-5 days of meals to any family in the region with either a short-term or long-term need.

Food is distributed on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9-11am. A distribution dedicated to senior citizens is held the Friday before the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-11:30am. Emergency boxes are available upon request, if warranted. Specific distribution dates can be seen listed below.

In the event of bad weather, for Friday Distribution the WFP follows the WRSD delayed opening or school closings.

Non-perishable groceries consistently provided include cereal, rice, macaroni & cheese, meal-in-a-can, peanut butter, pasta, ground meat, canned tuna, canned fruit and vegetables, and 100% juice. In addition, a variety of personal care, special diet, snacks, and baby care items are often available to choose from.

Fresh produce, meat, cheese, and bread are distributed as long as supplies last.

The amount of food received depends upon the size of the family.

Anyone living in Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland or Sterling is eligible to use the pantry upon completion of annual registration. Proof of residency is the only requirement.
